The Pro-Vice-Chancellor Pravin Wakte, and Deans from different faculties are part of the committee formed to look into the violation of rules while alloting guides for Ph.D. Scholars and probe the registrations of some  ‘selected’ candidates.

As per UGC rules, to register for  PhD a candidate is required to clear the Ph.D. Entrance Test of the respective university/ State Level Eligibility Test (SLET) / National eligibility test/ or have an MPhil, or should have minimum 5-year experience as full time approved teacher.

The committee has been mandated to vet all Ph.D. registrations that have taken place following the last PET held in 2017.
