The Maharashtra Medical Council (MMC) has developed a mobile app to help people in keeping track of registered doctors to Medical Council of India (MCI).

“This will help in curbing the quackery as unregistered doctors will be kept at bay. We have incorporated a database of doctors who are registered with the medical council,” spokesperson of the association told media.

He said that the app will prove to be a boon to people in availing quality healthcare from finest doctors.

“All the data of registered doctors are available with the council and people can easily cross-check doctors’ registration number through the app,” he said.

The MMC app, which is available on Google play store, will give facility to file complaint against fake doctors to MMC.

Dr Shivkumar Utture, president, MMC said that citizens will have an option of searching the names, registration number, and registration date of any doctor. The search function is easy.

“If the people come across a doctor who is not registered with the council, they can complain to us directly through the application,” Utture said.
