A drug used to treat follicular lymphoma that has come back or has not gotten better with other treatment. It is used in adults whose cancer has a certain mutation (change) in the EZH2 gene and has already been treated with at least two other anticancer therapies. It is also used in adults who cannot be treated with other therapies. Tazemetostat hydrobromide is also used to treat epithelioid sarcoma that is locally advanced or has spread to other parts of the body. It is used in adults and in children aged 16 years and older whose cancer cannot be removed by surgery. It is also being studied in the treatment of other types of cancer. Tazemetostat hydrobromide blocks certain enzymes involved in gene expression and cell division. These enzymes may be found in a mutated form or at high levels in some types of cancer cells. Blocking these enzymes may help keep cancer cells from growing. Tazemetostat hydrobromide is a type of histone methyltransferase inhibitor and a type of targeted therapy. Also called Tazverik.
