In an effort to weed out fake documents the University of Delhi, New Delhi has directed all the colleges to conduct a forensic analysis of the documents submitted by applicants during admission. The process is likely to begin from May 30, 2019.
The University will soon be able to access the CBSE database. If this decision is implemented successfully, the DU admission process will be much easier and faster reducing the problem of fake documents. More than 80 percent of the students applying to the university are from the CBSE.
The number of fake documents being submitted during admission has been increasing every year.
The submission of fake documents is an offence and a case can be registered under IPC Section 420 (Cheating), Section 468(Forgery) and Section 471 (Fraudulently and Dishonestly).
