The Indian Consulate in Dubai took to twitter warning students to be careful before enrolling for higher studies at the offshore campuses of Indian Universities.

The consulate through a tweet advised Indian students to check the universities that claim to be affiliated with the Indian government and private educational institutions. The embassy also urged students intending to pursue graduation in Dubai and the Northern Emirates to ensure that the institute is approved by local authorities as well. “The list of approved universities may be checked on UAE’s Commission for Academic Accreditation (CAA) and the Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA) as well’ it stated.

The Consulate listed 31 universities on its website that are approved by the Knowledge and Human Development Authority Dubai.

In February, the University Grants Commission (UGC) of India listed a total of 23 fake universities on the UGC website.
